Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity. Chronicle. Issue 11

Abstract

In this article, we present the eleventh installment of our regular analytical review series, dedicated entirely to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in cybersecurity. This series is designed as a systematic, ongoing study of one of the most rapidly evolving and complex fields emerging at the intersection of two powerful domains: artificial intelligence and information security. The project’s primary goal is to continuously track global trends and summarize the most notable and significant events in this sector. We go beyond the mere collection and aggregation of news; our initiative involves an in-depth analysis of regulations, high-profile incidents, and cutting-edge technological developments that collectively define the current state and landscape of cybersecurity as it is shaped by the growing influence of AI.

Each issue follows a consistent, pre-established format comprising three thematic sections, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to the subject matter. The first section provides an overview of recent security incidents and current challenges, analyzing real-world attack scenarios, identifying new vulnerabilities, and assessing threats arising from the integration of AI algorithms into both defensive mechanisms and the toolkits used by malicious actors. The second section outlines the current state of the regulatory landscape and key trends in its evolution. Understanding these processes is crucial, as they establish the legal and operational framework within which reliable, secure AI systems must function. The third section reviews the timeline of scientific and technological progress. The final section of each issue presents an annotated list of what we consider to be the most noteworthy scientific publications, analytical reports from leading organizations, and descriptions of innovative products and solutions.
